Practice Guidelines

Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)
A portal to the U.S. government's information resources on evidence-based practice related to health care services, including the National Guidelines Clearinghouse, and the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force

ASHA Practice Guidelines
ASHA Practice Guidelines issued in 2007 or later are considered evidence-based, while those issued prior to 2007 were based on expert consensus.

Systematic Reviews of the Evidence

Campbell Collaboration
Reviews incorporate a wide range of study designs with emphasis on education, including school-based SLP and audiology issues.

Cochrane Library
Systematic reviews (typically limited to randomized controlled trials) related to health care interventions and diagnostic procedures. The reviews exclude much of the evidence base related to speech language pathology and audiology. Abstracts are available free of charge; full-text reviews require a subscription to the Cochrane Library.

PubMed
The National Institutes of Health's (NIH) collection of peer-reviewed health literature.

What Works Clearinghouse
The U.S. Department of Education's collection of systematic reviews of SLP interventions in school and pre-school settings.
