This online chat will focus on children born with cleft palate with or without cleft lip (CP+/-L) who are at risk for feeding and communication disorders in the first 3 years of life. The panelists will discuss appropriate evaluation and treatment approaches for children with CP+/-L at the infant, prelinguistic, and early linguistic stage. Special applications to children with craniofacial syndromes and multilingual backgrounds will be included where appropriate. Information will be relevant to SLPs who work with children with related disorders in early intervention, private practice, schools, and hospitals.
