It’s the End of Paper Reporting and Collecting of Participant Information

December 15, 2022

After March 31, 2023, ASHA CE will no longer accept paper/bubble sheets for reporting. You will no longer have access to these forms beginning on April 1st. Many providers historically have depended on participant forms to (a) determine who wants to earn ASHA CEUs and (b) collect their contact information. If this is still how you’re operating, then please start planning your transition to other mechanisms now! You have multiple electronic options—for example, you can use long-standing products from Google or Microsoft, join videoconference platforms like Zoom and GoTo Meeting, or use websites and Learning Management Systems that have the capability to house your content. Regardless of which collection method you use, be sure that you are collecting everything that you need in order to correctly submit participants for reporting. Be sure to require the following information from all learners:

  • First and last name.
  • Mailing address—including street, city, state, and ZIP code (as well as country information if you have international learners).
  • Email address.
  • Whether they want to be reported for ASHA CEUs—yes or no.
  • If they say yes, be sure to ask for their eight-digit ASHA ID number—this should be optional because some learners may not have one yet.

You may want to collect other information, as well—such as phone numbers and workplace details—but as long as you are collecting the items listed above, you should be able to easily fill out your Excel Reporting template. If you are working with a cooperative partner, make sure that they are following this procedure, too.

If you have questions or concerns regarding this transition, please reach out to your Accounts Manager and schedule a time to chat: They’ll be able to help you with your specific context and challenges—and guide you to a solution that works for you!
