Reinstatement of the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) is available to formerly certified individuals after their ASHA certification has expired, or has been resigned or retired. An individual whose certification was revoked by the ASHA Board of Ethics (BOE) but who has petitioned and received approval to reinstate from the BOE—and met all conditions and/or requirements—may apply for reinstatement.
View the Audiology Pathway to Reinstatement for more information.

Individuals seeking reinstatement of the CCC-A must complete and submit all of the following items:
Please do not apply until you can 1) meet all the policies and procedures for reinstatement and 2) submit all the required items above. Incomplete application materials will not be processed; applicants will be notified of the deficiency and given 60 days to complete and resubmit the appropriate application materials.
Refund Policy: Applicants who are deemed ineligible for ASHA certification or who voluntarily withdraw their application for ASHA certification within 1 year of the initial application payment date will receive a refund of the initial application fee, less a $50 nonrefundable processing fee. The initial application fee will not be refunded according to the following criteria: (a) after the first dues/fees payment has been made or (b) after 1 year or more from the application payment date, whichever comes first. Applicants who have made a dues/fees renewal payment will receive a refund of only the most recent payment.
Please allow approximately 6 weeks for review of your completed online application and all required documentation. Certification will be reinstated only after we have verified that all reinstatement requirements have been met.
Once certification has been granted, all certificate holders must be aware that maintenance of certification is accomplished through abiding by the ASHA Code of Ethics, annual payment of ASHA dues and/or the annual certification fee, and accrual of 30 hours of professional development during each 3-year maintenance interval.
