If you are traveling to the ASHA National Office or on ASHA’s behalf and have specific questions or concerns, contact your ex officio or staff liaison. Ultimately the decision to travel or participate in scheduled, in-person activities is up to the individual and should be based on personal and professional assessment of risk regarding participation in activities on ASHA’s behalf.
You may need to consider limitations or guidelines in place by your employer, local, state or federal authorities, ASHA’s Travel Policies, and other information and options available to you to make your best decision about participation or travel. Alternative methods for participation in activities, e.g. webinars, teleconferencing, conference calls, etc., will vary depending on the type of activity and the type of participation required. If you determine that you are unable to travel, please provide as much advance notice as possible to modify travel or hotel reservations, and explore alternative participation, or make arrangements for others to manage the activity in your absence.
As always, ASHA staff will work to support, to the best of our ability, any volunteer traveler dealing with unexpected situations that may arise while at, or in service to, ASHA.
