Specific Insurance Mandate

The state of Georgia has a specific autism mandate, which requires certain insurers to provide coverage for autism spectrum disorder.

The mandate requires accident and sickness contracts, policies or benefit plans to provide for medically necessary coverage for autism spectrum disorder for individuals under twenty years of age. Coverage includes therapy services provided by a licensed or certified speech therapist or speech-language pathologist.
