Using ASHA CEUs for Licensure Renewal

CE Programs offered by ASHA Approved CE Providers and documented with the ASHA CE Registry are recognized by all state regulatory agencies that mandate CE for renewal of licensure. Contact your state regulatory agency directly for their specific requirements. For example, some licensure boards limit the number of qualifying ASHA CEUs earned through self-study and independent study. Some stipulate that the content area focus solely on the clinical practice of speech-language pathology and/or audiology (i.e. courses that ASHA categorizes their content area as "professional" rather than "related").

Since state licensure of audiologists and speech-language pathologists is regulated by each state, not ASHA, you should contact the regulatory agency (see links below) in your state directly to obtain information on renewal of licensure in audiology and speech-language pathology.
