This section defines an offering, discusses registering courses with multiple offerings, and describes how to add additional offerings.
The offering is the scheduled event during which the course will be presented at a given date, time and if applicable, location. In the case of an online course, an offering is the start and end date for each reporting period. Every course will have at least one offering. All offerings of the course must have the same:
Instructors, dates, and locations may vary, but the content and format are the same.
In the “Registration and Cancellation” section of the CE Provider Portal, on the Course Overview page, there is an offering registration section. In this section, you will be able to add offerings, edit and delete offerings prior to submission, cancel offerings not held, and track offering’s registration/reporting statuses and dates. For detailed information on how to add, edit, delete, and/or cancel offerings, see the "Registration and Cancellation" section of the CE Provider Portal User Guide.
Offerings can be added during a course valid registration period. Additional offerings must be submitted at least 3 days prior to the offering start date. Updates to existing offerings must be submitted via the registration change web form and received at ASHA no later than 3 days prior to the offering start date. Offering start and end dates MUST be in the same calendar year. When planning your offering dates, also be aware that participants will be assigned the offering end-date as the ASHA CEU date, not necessarily the actual completion date.
Answer "yes" to the question "Is this a cooperative or a joint providership offering?" during the offering registration process. Then select the correct option of whether a joint provider or coop provider is being used and provide the information requested. If an offering is cooperative, then a fee is owed. The invoice will be accessible on the "Course Overview" page after the course is submitted for registration.
Additional offerings can be added within the course’s five year course registration period as long as the Course title, Course description, Learning outcomes, Agenda, ASHA CEU amount, and Learning assessment is the exact same. If any changes are made to these areas, then a new course must be registered.
Each offering needs to be reported within 45 days of its end date. So if you have 20 offerings, you will need to submit ASHA 20 reports. See section 8 of this tutorial for more information on reporting offerings.
