This section summarizes important information about the participant appeals process, and your Provider status.
There are deadlines associated with: registration, reporting, roster correction, and adding additional offerings. For a complete list deadlines, please refer to the CE Deadline Reference Guide [PDF]. This resource includes a timeline of what you can expect to receive from ASHA CE as confirmation of receipt of your submissions.
When your organization has difficulty meeting the Standards and ASHA CE Policiesor when you have questions about satisfying them , you should reach out to your Provider Manager or Accounts Manager (ASHA CE Staff Team) for assistance. Your team will contact you and set up a consultation if they identify an issue with your registration or reporting. Organizations must have a conversation with their CE Staff team to assess and respond to the following issues:
For more detail about the consultation process, see this explanation of ASHA CE’s Consultative Approach to Supporting Providers.
If the participant did not request ASHA CEUs or provide the information necessary to submit to ASHA CE , please direct them to the Participant Appeal Online Form. If they requested ASHA CEUs and their name was omitted from the final roster, you will need to contact your Accounts Manager about filing a late roster correction.
ASHA Continuing Education does not accept requests from participants asking that ASHA CEUs be granted for a course with an end date more than 12 months ago.
ASHA CE Providers are approved for a 5-year period. During the fifth year, ASHA CE conducts a review to determine the level of a Provider's ongoing compliance with ASHA CE Standards and Policies. There is a fee associated with this review based on your organization's level of compliance during the preceding 5 years. For further information contact Amy Hasselkus at ahasselkus@asha.org.
Providers undergoing a 5-year review are notified in March of the fifth year of accreditation. In late summer/early fall of that year, Providers receive a letter detailing the degree to which the organization met the ASHA CE Standards and Policies and an invoice for the 5-year review fee. The 5-year review fee is in addition to the CE Provider annual fee for the following year.
The 5-year review is also an opportunity for providers to give feedback to ASHA CE about policies and processes. You will receive a link to a provider feedback form with your 5-year review information. We welcome feedback at any time—simply contact your Provider Manager.
Note: If your organizational structure has changed, or if no activities have been registered for ASHA CEUs for several years, you may have to submit a new Provider application.
You may voluntarily withdraw your provider status at any time. Please let us know in writing. Please note that you would have to reapply if you decide at a future date that you would like to once again become an ASHA Approved CE Provider.
