ASHA is pleased to announce its new annual Public Service Award to recognize a public servant (e.g., elected lawmaker, politically appointed policymaker) whose contributions positively impact the professions and those we serve. Our success in advocacy relies heavily on those who recognize and champion the public policy issues that advance the professions. It is the highest award that ASHA exclusively confers on a public servant.
For 2021, ASHA members are asked to nominate a federal public servant whose actions have made a critical difference in the professions of audiology, speech-language pathology, and/or the patients, clients, and students we serve.
The submission deadline is May 31, 2021. Nominations will be reviewed by ASHA’s Government Affairs and Public Policy Board. Then, ASHA’s Board of Directors will vote to approve the final candidate by July 31, 2021. The award will be presented to the honoree during ASHA’s Convention.
