Accomplish: Bye Bye, Bubble Sheets!

September 15, 2022

The time has come to do away with paper reporting. The last day that mailed or faxed bubble sheets or Scantron forms (i.e., Course Offering Report and ASHA CEU participant forms) will be accepted is March 31, 2023. This deadline applies to all courses and offerings, including those courses conducted cooperatively.

Why get rid of the bubble sheets? There are so many reasons— but taking care of your participants tops the list. On average, when participants are reported using the Microsoft Excel template, their ASHA CEUs are recorded on their transcript 12 days sooner than those reported using bubble sheets.

Other reasons for this change include

  • reducing ASHA Continuing Education (CE) processing errors due to improved participant matching,
  • improving the security of participant information,
  • eliminating mailing expenses and delays,
  • avoiding fax transmission issues,
  • cutting down on paper being used (saves trees),
  • ending frustration with participants not understanding how to fill in bubbles, and
  • doing away with photocopying forms and the problems with poorly duplicated forms.

The bubble sheets put in 36 years of exemplary service, but the CE business, participants, and technology have all evolved beyond pen and paper, copiers, and fax machines.

Haven’t tried Excel reporting yet? Contact your Accounts Manager to set up time to schedule a demo of the reporting functions in the CE Provider Portal, learn about our Excel reporting method, discuss the collection of participant information, and chat about any of your questions or concerns.
