Interstate Compact Begins Issuing Compact Privileges

October 28, 2025

The Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology Interstate Compact (ASLP-IC) Commission recently announced that the CompactConnect data system had officially launched. Today, Tuesday, October 28, 2025, Louisiana and West Virginia became the first states to begin issuing privileges to eligible audiologists and speech-language pathologists (SLPs)!

CompactConnect is the secure data system that operationalizes the ASLP-IC. Each compact member state must onboard with CompactConnect before they can begin issuing compact privileges. It is this system where eligible audiologists and SLPs will also apply for and receive a compact privilege to practice in other participating member states. Practitioners cannot register with CompactConnect until their home state onboards. Of the 37 member states and territories, Louisiana and West Virginia are the only states that have onboarded and are issuing privileges at this time.

Additional states are actively working toward onboarding and opening applications.
The onboarding process completed by member states will be done on a rolling basis in coordination with state board administrators, IT staff, CompactConnect Project Management Team, and the Compact Executive Director. You can find updates on a state’s status in the ASLP-IC map.
