With executive orders, new bills, nominations, and states in session, it’s a busy time in public policy. There are a number of pressing priorities that you can fight for today. We’ve made it easy for you to write to your legislators. Just visit our Take Action Center or skim the list below, click on an issue, complete the form, and press “send” to make your voice heard!
Congress is considering slashing federal Medicaid funding. This would create massive barriers for millions of people with disabilities who need access to care, including audiology and speech-language pathology services. ASHA is joining many national and state groups for a Day of Action to Protect Medicaid. Take action today and fight to protect Medicaid.
A bill has been introduced to eliminate the 2.8% Medicare cut in 2025 and increase payments to offset inflation costs. Ask your U.S. Representative to cosponsor the Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2025 to stop Medicare cuts and extend telehealth authority beyond March 31!
Bills have been introduced in Congress to eliminate the U.S. Department of Education and shift its programs to other agencies that may not prioritize your needs. Join us in urging legislators to preserve the Department and protect education programs!
Boost timely advocacy efforts by ASHA and your state speech-language-hearing association. Don’t see your state? Keep an eye on our Take Action Center for opportunities as they arise and reach out to your state association to get involved.
Arizona, Illinois, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, and Pennsylvania legislators are all currently considering joining the ASLP-IC. Ask your legislators to support your state joining the interstate compact!
