Audiology ICD-10-CM Code Changes for 2024

The following new and revised ICD-10-CM (International Classification of Diseases, 10th Revision, Clinical Modification) codes are effective October 1, 2023, for fiscal year (FY) 2024. ICD-10-CM codes are updated annually. See ASHA's website for the latest updates.

There are no major changes to ICD-10-CM codes directly related to hearing or vestibular disorders for FY 2024. However, audiologists should be aware that the 2024 ICD-10-CM expands the family of diagnosis codes describing Parkinson’s disease for greater specificity.

Note: Always check with payers regarding coverage of new or revised ICD-10-CM codes. Coding changes may not always alter payer coverage decisions for specific conditions.

Consult the medical record or referring physician before reporting dementia or mild neurocognitive disorder in addition to the audiologic or vestibular diagnosis on the claim.
