Medicare and Speech-Language Pathologists in Private Practice
Introduction
On July 16, 2008 the Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) of 2008 was passed, which included a provision that will allow speech-language pathologists in private practice to directly bill the Medicare program effective July 1, 2009. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services began accepting enrollment applications beginning June 2, 2009.
