Candidate for Vice President for Academic Affairs in Audiology: Kimberly (Kim) Ward, CCC-A

Kimberly W. Ward, AuD, CCC-A, brings to the Board more than 15 years of experience in clinical, academic, and leadership roles—with a strong commitment to advancing the profession of audiology. She currently serves as an associate professor at The University of Southern Mississippi.

Dr. Ward’s service to ASHA spans more than a decade. She has served as audiology co-chair for the 2024 Convention, topic chair for multiple conventions, and a member of the Scientific and Professional Education Board. Her leadership has extended to chairing the ASHA Medicaid Committee, serving as a member of the ASHA Healthcare Economics Committee, and mentoring students through the ASHA S.T.E.P. program. She has been a Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) site visitor since 2017 and has served on the CAA Nominating Committee. Additionally, she is a proud past president of the Mississippi Speech-Language-Hearing Association (MSHA) and the Educational Audiology Association (EAA).

Her professional background includes pediatric audiology, educational audiology, and faculty leadership. She has practiced in university clinics, children’s hospitals, and school-based settings, while simultaneously maintaining an active academic career. Her work has been recognized through numerous awards—including the Noel E. Matkin Award (EAA), Clinical Achievement Award (MSHA), Honors of the Association (MSHA), and multiple Faculty Excellence Awards from The University of Southern Mississippi.

Dr. Ward is dedicated to supporting academic excellence and ensuring that the future of audiology is innovative, inclusive, and student centered.
