Perry Flynn, MEd, CCC-SLP, BCS-CL, CTRI, is a Fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA); a Board-Certified Specialist in Child Language (BCS-CL); and a Certified Therapeutic Horseback Riding Instructor (CTRI) through the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship.
He is a Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of North Carolina Greensboro and the Consultant to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction in the area of Speech-Language Pathology. He is a Board member and Director of the Equestrian Sport Development team for Special Olympics North Carolina and has been engaged in therapeutic horseback riding for his entire career. He is the author of two children’s books.
Perry is a graduate of Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of North Carolina Greensboro. He has worked in public school, university, and state department settings throughout his career.
Perry is dedicated to service in several organizations. At ASHA he has served two terms on the Board of Directors as Chair of the Speech-Language Pathology Advisory Council and most recently as the Vice President for Planning. Additionally, he has served as Chair of the School Finance Committee, Vice-Chair of the Honors Committee and currently as a Co-Topic Chair for the 2025 Convention.
