Description of Opportunity: Do you know someone interested in becoming more involved with ASHA’s Special Interest Groups?
The SIGs are accepting nominations to fill elected positions on their Coordinating Committees (CC) for the 2024–2026 term. These committees are responsible for leading the activities of the SIGs and ensuring that they operate within established programmatic guidelines [PDF]. CC members, with the exception of the appointed Editor and Professional Development Manager, are elected by a plurality vote of the affiliates in the respective SIG.
Check the Submit a SIG Nomination web page for more information about these opportunities and the nomination process. Nominations must be submitted through the online form by March 27, 2023. Nominees will have until April 7 to accept their nominations.
Experience Required: All nominators and nominees must be members in good standing (i.e., current ASHA members with no current ethics violations) and current affiliates of the SIG for which the nomination is submitted, to be eligible for consideration.
The current Coordinating Committee may be looking for individuals with certain skill sets, expertise, etc. depending on the needs and planned activities of the SIG; information related to this will be provided on the respective SIG affiliate discussion on the ASHA Community.

NOTE: SIG 11 (Admin/Supervision), SIG 19 (Speech Science), and SIG 20 (Counseling will not have vacant elected positions for the 2024–2026 term, so those SIGs are not holding elections in 2023.
